Description
Species Description - Glabrous or pubescent shrub to 3 m. Leaves mostly fascicled (2-3) from spurs; leafstalk 1-4 cm with an amber, conical or medially tumid gland between lower leaflet pair; leaflets 3-12 pairs, subsessile, elliptic to obovate, 3-10 mm; 2-2.5 r, punctate beneath. Stipules subulate, usually clustered at spurs and evident under magnification. Flowers in 1-3-flowered racemes. Pedicels 1-2 cm; sepals unequal, the longer 6-8 mm; corolla yellow, 2.5-4 cm diam; stamens 6-7, 2-3 larger and beaked. Legume dehiscent, stipitate, narrowly oblong, straight to curved, flat, 8-15 cm long, 6-8 mm wide, impressed between transverse seeds; valves papery, black at maturity. Seeds few-numerous.
