Description
Species Description - Deep-rooted, usually glabrate to puberulent, herbaceous or suffrutescent perennial with spreading to erect, unbranched stems .5-3 m. Leafstalk 10-13 cm, with a conspicuous, cylindric, pointed, 3-5 mm gland at base of petiole; leaflets 6-8 pairs, petioluled, lanceolate, acute, asymmetric at base, 2.5-6 cm, 3.4-5 r. Stipules not seen. Flowers in small axillary racemes and(or) terminal panicles. Sepals subequal, 8-10 mm; corolla yellow, 2.5-3 cm diam, slightly irregular; functional stamens 7, 3 considerably exceeding the others; ovary glabrous to strigose. Legume dehiscent, oblong-falcate, compressed, 10 -13 cm long, 5-7 mm wide, often beaked; valves papery, brown with narrow light margin, transverse-striate, the segments wider than long, separating along both sutures. Seeds many.
