Discussion
P. juliflora auct. CN 2n = 28 Fearing (ex Isely, 1972). The known representative of P. laevigata in the United States seems to be a single individual, presumably an introduction, surrounded by a population of presumed hybrids with P. glandulosa var. glandulosa some of which, sensu characters, resemble P. glandulosa var. torreyana (Johnston, 1962; Isely, 1972).
