    Species Description - Armed shrub or small tree, 1-6 m, puberulent except for leaflets. Leafstalk gland on petiole, rachis glands present or absent; pinnae 3-5(-6) pairs; leaflets 9-15 pairs, elliptic-oblong, 4-7 mm long, 1.5-2.5 mm wide, moderately nerved. Spines slender, straight, 1-15 mm, black. Flowers in yellowish-white heads, 1.5-2.3 cm diam, fasciculate-racemose or panicled at branch tips, infrequently solitary. Legume oblong, flat, straight, 5-10 cm long, ca 1 cm wide, dehiscent; valves thick-membranous, olive-drab to black.
