Description
Species Description - Root woody, sometimes subcorky. Stems prostrate with ascending inflorescences, total axis 1.5-15 cm, glabrate to pubescent. Pinnae 2-5(-6) pairs; leaflets (12-) 15-2 5 (-30) pairs, shortly oblong, 2-4 mm, nearly symmetric, glabrate but often conspicuously ciliate, plainly nerved, often gray-glaucous on lower surface. Stipules ovate-lanceolate, striate, 3-4 mm. Flowers in short-ovoid to subcapitate, bristly, dull-yellowish heads on solitary peduncles from upper axils. Upper flowers perfect, lowermost sterile with strap-like staminodes ca 3 mm and often deciduous from mature inflorescences. Calyx 1.5-2(-2.5) mm, each lobe with a medial nerve conspicuous after flowering; corolla ca 3 mm, striate. Legume stipe 1-4 mm, included in calyx or not; body compressed, oblong, 1-4 cm long, .5-1.5 cm wide, proximally tapering, apically abruptly acuminate.
