Description
Distribution and Ecology - Distribution. Shrub of savannas and sandy river banks, known only from Suriname. "Gandavoetoe val. Bo.—Tapanahony R," Aug 1959, Schulz 8211 ([male] fl., fr. U ) .

Discussion
This species is probably closely related to C. subserratus, differing only in the smaller leaves, shorter glands at the top of the petiole, and especially by the glabrous ovary. It is also related to C. lunelianus and C. sclerocalyx (Diedrich) Müll. Arg., both of central Brazil.
