Description
Genus Description - Unarmed trees. Leaves bipinnate, large, and with large leaflets. Stipules not evident. Inflorescences of elongate, axillary or terminally congested racemes. Calyx campanulate, barely lobed; corolla segments basally coherent or nearly free; stamens 10, scarcely exserted; anthers with a deciduous, apical gland. Ovary sessile. Legume dehiscent, oblong, compressed but turgid, straight or curved; valves coriaceous, separating along both margins at maturity and twisting. Seeds red.
