    Species Description - Leaf blades 5-costate including a marginal pair. Median adaxial epidermis inflated, the component cells 1-layered, longitudinally oblong or bulliform; the rest of epidermis consisting of uniformly low rectangular cells. Mesophyll not conspicuously differentiated into palisade and spongy portions, with a few scattered tannin cells; no large intercellular spaces noted. Vascular bundles arranged in a single row, close to abaxial epidermis except for a marginal pair, each supported by an abaxial low girder and an adaxial fiber strand. One small marginal vascular bundle on each side of the blade adaxially located immediately beneath adaxial epidermis, with an adaxial low girder.
