Description
Description - Perennial, mostly epiphytic herbs. Leaves rosulate, armed. Scape evident. Inflorescence compound, densely corymbose, involucrate with the bracts covering all but the apices of the flowers. Flowers short-pedicellate or subsessile; perfect. Sepals free or nearly so; petals free, appendaged; stamens included; pollen biporate or multiporate; ovary wholly inferior; ovules obtuse or short-caudate, numerous. Fruit scarcely enlarged from the ovary; seeds many, subfusiform.
