  • Description

    Description - Plant flowering over 4 dm high. Leaves over 2 m long, sheaths oblong, 10 cm long, badious-tomentose; blades dilated at base, elsewhere linear-triangular, acuminate, pungent, to 5 cm wide, glabrous, very laxly serrate with antrorse curved spines 10 mm long. Scape stout; scape-bracts erect, very densely imbricate, foliaceous. Inflorescence densely cylindric, 30 cm long, 10 cm in diameter, badious-lepidote including the petals; primary bracts erect, the lowest long-laminate, completely covering the short flowering branches. Floral bracts oblong, not at all dilated at apex, broadly acute, 4 cm long, distinctly exceeding the ovary, flat, laxly serrulate; pedicels slender, to 10 mm long. Sepals free, sublinear, carinate, cucullate, 27 mm long, sparsely serrulate; petals slightly exceeding the sepals; filament-tube 9 mm long; ovary cylindric, 13 mm long.
