Staminate inflorescences subsessile or peduncle to 0.2 cm long. Free parts of the tepals of pistillate flowers to 4 cm long in fruit.

Discussion
The staminate inflorescences of the material of subsp. ulei collected in Ecuador tend to be larger than those collected in Brazil, Bolivia, and Peru. The infructescences show considerable variation in size in relation to the number of flowers (and fruits) per inflorescence.
