  • Description

    Species Description - Revised description: Longer hairs on the stipules, on the leafy twigs, and on the midrib of the lamina beneath patent. Lamina usually to 20 cm long; upper surface of the lamina distinctly bullate, hirsute to hirtellous to strigose, usually ± scabrous. Perianth of the pistillate flower free, hirtellous to hirsute on the lower part.

    Throughout the Amazon Basin, but mainly in the southern part, extending to the southernmost part of Suriname; in non-inundated forest; at low elevations.
