Description
Species Description - Subshrubs 1 m tall, the stems densely viscid and sparsely pilose, with scattered simple hairs 2-2.5 mm long, or these lacking. Leaf blades mostly 4-8(-13) x 2-5(-9) cm, ovate, cordate, prominently to obscurely serrate, acuminate, palmately 5-7-nerved, minutely and softly stellate-tomentose (the hairs 0.2-0.5 mm long beneath, smaller above), also pilose on the veins, discolorous; petioles 1-2.5(-7) cm long; stipules 2-5 mm long, subulate, Flowers solitary in the leaf axils or forming a terminal panicle, the pedicels 2.5-10 cm long, equaling or exceeding the subtending leaves; involucellar bracts 6-7, 10-15 x ca. 1 mm, viscid, pilose only toward the base; calyx 6-7 mm long, ciliate, often whitish in intercostal areas; corolla 2.5-3 cm long, white, glabrous on margins of claw; staminal column 15-17 mm long, pallid, glabrous, the filaments 0.5-1 mm long, often in 3 or 4 whorls; styles exceeding the column, the stigmas villous. Fruits oblate, 7-9 mm diam., 4.5 mm high, obscurely scabridulous on suture, otherwise glabrous.
