  • Discussion

Syntypes of Pavonia kunthii var. pohlii include: Pohl 1160, 1303, 2667 (F) and Regnell 111-177 (BR as photo CTES, CTES [fragment], S-2).

Pavonia hexaphylla is related to P. krapovickasii and P. vinosa, from which it is distinguished by linear in-volucellar bracts and different leaf pubescence. More distantly related (with greater stature and larger flowers) are P biflora and P. garckeana and (with smaller stature and smaller flowers) P. cracens.

  • Distribution

From Bolivia, Brazil (Bahia, Goiás, Mato Grosso, Minas Gerais, and Sao Paulo), and Paraguay, in cerrado and forest vegetation at 400-800 m elevation.
