    Description - Plant flowering over 1 m high. Leaves 50-75 cm long, minutely and obscurely lepidote; sheaths narrowly ovate, indistinct; blades ligulate, acute to rounded and apiculate, 45-50 mm wide. Scape erect, slender, glabrous; scape-bracts ovate, acute, usually remote. Inflorescence lax, bipinnate, 20-56 cm long, glabrous; primary bracts broadly ovate, acute, 2 cm long, much shorter than the sterile 1-3-bracteate bases of the branches; branches ascending, 12-21 cm long, laxly many-flowered. Floral bracts ovate, acute, 6-8 mm long, subcoriaceous, yellow, even to nerved; flowers divergent; pedicels broadly obconic, 3 mm long. Sepals oblong-obovate, obtuse, cucullate, 10 mm long, short-connate, even to nerved, Capsule 25-30 mm long.
