Description
Description - Plant flowering 2-3 dm high. Leaves 2-3 dm long; sheaths broadly elliptic, much broader than the blades, minutely brown-lepidote, purple toward apex; blades ligulate, acute and apiculate, 15-25 mm wide, wholly green, very obscurely lepidote. Scape erect slender; scape-bracts densely imbricate, broadly elliptic, apiculate, subinflated, membranaceous, rose. Inflorescence simple, few-flowered, lanceolate or oblong, strongly compressed, 6-12 cm long, 3-4 cm wide; rhachis geniculate, slender, the internodes 8-13 mm long. Floral bracts distichous broadly elliptic, acute, 3-4 cm long, 24 mm or wider, exceeded by the sepals especially the lower ones, enfolding the sepals and exposing the rhachis, carinate, incurved, membranaceous, yellow and rose, glabrous; flowers imbricate, suberect; pedicels to 6 mm long. Sepals elliptic, obtuse, to 34 mm long; petal-blades 10 mm long; stamens exserted.
