  • Description

    Description - Plant very slender in all parts. Scape-bracts longer or shorter than the upper internodes. Inflorescence with branches spreading to recurving, the rhachis often twisted so that the flowers are secu d, but the pedicels remaining straight. Floral bracts nerved, membranaceous, much shorter than the sepals.

  • Discussion

    Ule says that his Tillandsia gracilis lacks scales on the petals, but it would appear to an abnormal plant because in all other characters it matches the type of this variety.

  • Distribution

    Epiphytic in forest, 800-900 m alt alt, Rio de Janeiro State and São Paulo in eastern Brazil.
