Description
Description - Plant flowering 1 m or more high. Leaves 1 m long; sheaths large, dark brown; blades ligulate, 8 cm wide, rounded-apiculate, concolorous. Scape very stout, erect; scape-bracts ovate-elliptic, acute, densely imbricate. Inflorescence simple, 5-7 dm long, many-flowered; rhachis over 1 cm thick at the base. Floral bracts broadly ovate, 6 cm long, about equaling the sepals, with decurrent auricles, ecarinate, coriaceous; flowers spreading, not secund; pedicels stout, 13 mm long. Sepals ovate, obtuse, 42 mm long, 17 mm wide. Coma whitish.
