Description
Variety Description - Leaves usually pinnate, sometimes simple; pinnae (or blade) densely pilose abaxially. Inflorescences interfoliar; pistillate corolla with long, contorted spinules. Several specimens of this variety have simple leaves (e.g., Henderson et al., 1819, 1824).
