Description
Description - Plant stemless, flowering to 70 cm high. Leaves few, 15-40 cm long, densely and finely appressed-lepidote throughout; sheaths large, ovate, brown; blades linear lanceolate, attenuate, 20-30 mm wide, often involute. Scape slender, erect; scape-bracts elliptic, longer to shorter than the internodes, apiculate or short-caudate. Inflorescence laxly tripinnate; axes subdistichous, covered with fine, pale-ferruginous scales except in age; primary bracts spreading, ovate, acute, much shorter than the 4-5 cm branches; spikes spreading, oblong, laxly ca 10-flowered; rhachis slender, geniculate, obscurely alate. Floral bracts ovate, acute, 7-9 mm long, exceeding the sepals, membranous, sulcate with a strong midnerve, lepidote, obscurely carinate, incurved at apex; flowers sessile, suberect, 7 mm long. Sepals subelliptic, obtuse, 5 mm long, carinate, lepidote; petals yellow, the blades spreading; style shorter than the ellipsoid ovary.
