    Species Description - Treelet; young shoots subglabrous, pale buff to greyish white, thinly scaling, without lenticels. Leaves spaced or loosely clustered, 4.8-15 × 1.6-4.8 cm, oblanceolate, apex obtuse to rounded, less frequently shortly narrowly attenuate, base narrowly attenuate or cuneate, chartaceous or thinly coriaceous, glabrous; venation eucamptodromous, midrib not raised on the upper surface, secondary veins 6-10 pairs, convergent, slightly arcuate or straight; intersecondaries short to moderately long; tertiaries forming a lax reticulum. Petiole 0.3-1.1 cm long, not channelled, glabrous. Fascicles 2-5-flowered, axillary and below the leaves. Pedicel 3-4 mm long, glabrous. Flowers bisexual (?). Sepals four, 3-3.5 mm long, outer ovate-lanceolate, acute, inner broadly elliptic, rounded, subglabrous. Corolla shortly tubular, ca. 4.5 mm long, tube 3-3.25 mm long, lobes four, 1.25-1.5 mm long, broadly oblong, margin truncate, ciliate. Stamens four, fixed halfway to two-thirds up the corolla tube; filaments ca. 1.5 mm long, glabrous; anthers 0.75-0.8 mm long, ovate to lanceolate, flattened, glabrous. Staminodes four, 1-1.25 mm long, oblong, apex rounded, ciliate. Disk absent. Ovary globose, four-locular, densely long-strigose; style 2.5-3 mm long after anthesis, glabrous; style-head simple. Fruit 3-3.5 cm long, globose, ovoid or obovoid, apex rounded, base rounded or obtuse, smooth, densely puberulous to subglabrous. Seeds 1-2, 1.5-1.7 cm long, broadly ellipsoid, rounded at base and apex, testa slightly roughened, adherent to the pericarp, ca. 1 mm thick; scar broadly adaxial and extending around the base, 1-1.1 cm wide; embryo with plano-convex, free cotyledons, radicle extending to the surface; endosperm absent. Field characters. Treelet to 8 m high with greenish-white flowers and yellowish to brown fruit. Flowering May, Nov-Jan, fruit maturing Jun to Feb.
