    Species Description - Tree; young shoots sparsely and finely appressed puberulous or subglabrous, becoming pale brown, thinly scaling, with a few lenticels. Leaves spaced, spirally arranged, 8-15 × 3.5-6 cm, oblanceolate, apex obtusely cuspidate to shortly narrowly attenuate, base narrowly attenuate, chartaceous, glabrous; venation eucamptodromous, midrib raised on the upper surface, secondary veins 9-11 pairs, parallel or slightly convergent, slightly arcuate; intersecondaries absent; tertiaries fine, oblique; higher order reticulum visible with lens. Petiole 0.8-1.2 cm long, channelled, glabrous. Fascicles 2-6-flowered, axillary. Pedicel 3-6 mm long, finely appressed puberulous. Flowers bisexual. Sepals four, 3-4 mm long, broadly ovate to suborbicular, closely appressed puberulous on both surfaces, inner pair with a broad, glabrous margin and ciliate. Corolla tubular, 5.5-6 mm long, tube 3.5-4 mm long; lobes six, 1.5-2 mm long, oblong to lanceolate, apex obtuse to rounded, papillose. Stamens six, fixed near the apex of the corolla tube; filaments ca. 0.5 mm long, geniculate, glabrous; anthers ca. 0.75 mm long, broadly lanceolate, glabrous. Staminodes six, ca. 1 mm long, linear-subulate, papillose. Disk absent. Ovary globose, (four-)six-locular, densely stiff-pubescent; style 3.5-4.5 mm long after anthesis, exserted or equalling the corolla, glabrous; style-head simple. Fruit unknown. Field characters. Tree to 30 m high and 50 cm diam. with white latex. Flowers greenish white. Flowering Aug-Oct and Feb.
