Description
Variety Description - Leaves obovate, elliptic, elliptic-oblong, or elliptic-oblanceolate, 2.5-5.6 cm long, 1.3-2.8 cm long, wide, 1.7-2.2 times as long as wide, glabrous or essentially so, the blades not bullate, the lateral veins ca. 12-22, up to ca. 0.2 mm wide; apex broadly rounded, obtuse, or emarginate; base acuminate to cuneate; petiole 2-7 mm long, ca. 1 mm wide. Inflorescence usually a dichasium of no more than three flowers.

Distribution
Pimenta pseudocaryophyllus var. hoehnei is a small tree confined to the coastal forests of southeastern Brazil from Santa Catarina to São Paulo.
