    Species Description - Tree; young shoots with a few appressed hairs, soon glabrous, greyish-brown, slightly scaly, lenticellate or not. Leaves spaced, spirally arranged 5-8 × 2-4 cm, broadly oblanceolate, apex narrowly acuminate to obtusely cuspidate, base narrowly attenuate, coriaceous, glabrous, venation brochidodromous, sometimes with a weak marginal vein, margin often revolute, submarginal vein present, very close to the margin, midrib flat or slightly sunken on the upper surface, secondary veins numerous, steeply ascending, striate to the naked eye, but the parallel intersecondaries and tertiaries can be distinguished with a lens. Petiole 4-8 mm long, channelled, glabrous. Fascicles 3-6-flowered, axillary and in the axils of fallen leaves. Pedicel 3-4 mm long, sparsely appressed puberulous. Flowers unisexual (?). Sepals 1.5-2 mm long, ovate, apex acute to obtuse, sparsely appressed hairy outside, glabrous inside, margin ciliate. Corolla 2.5-3 mm long, shortly tubular or campanulate, tube 1.5-1.75 mm long, lobes five, 1-1.25 mm long, oblong, apex rounded, glabrous. Stamens five, included; filaments 0.4-0.5 mm long, glabrous; anthers ca. 0.5 mm long, lanceolate-ovate, glabrous. Staminodes five, ca. 1 mm long, subulate, glabrous. Disk absent. Ovary ovoid, five-locular, shortly pubescent; style exserted before anthesis and after, final length 1.75-2.5 mm, glabrous; style-head slightly lobed. Fruit ca. 3-4.5 × 2-3 cm, broadly ellipsoid, apex acute, base rounded, smooth (wrinkling on drying), glabrous. Seeds several, 2-2.8 cm long, laterally compressed, apex rounded, base acute, testa smooth, shining, ca. 0.5 mm thick; scar adaxial, 1.6-2 × 0.6-0.7 cm. Field characters. Tree to 35 m high and 70 cm diam., buttressed to 1 m. Bark fissured, latex white or pinkish. Flowers bright green, fruit maturing yellow. Flowering Oct to Jan, mature fruit Aug to Nov.
