Description
Subspecies Description - Petiole (1-) 1.5-3 cm long, lower leaf surface glabrous. A tree to 30 m high and 70 cm diam. with greyish slightly fissured bark. The pink slash exudes thin milky latex. Sterile trees can be recognised by their leaves that turn red before falling. The flowers are greenish-white or cream, fragrant and the fruit ripens dark reddish-purple (Adams, 1972: 573 states that the fruit may also be yellow). Flowering throughout the range is mostly Jul to Sep, with the fruit maturing Feb to Jun.
