Leaves oblong or ovate, usually oblong-ovate, apex shortly attenuate to subacuminate, tip subacute, base broadly cuneate to almost rounded, initially membranaceous and becoming dark brown when dry, at maturity subcoriaceous and olivaceous, neither tuberculate nor wax-coated, rather dull on both surfaces, glabrous, (4-)5-8 x 3-4.5 cm, midrib yellowish, slightly raised above, strongly so beneath, lateral nerves 7-8(-9) pairs more or less straight towards the edge, looping, rather obscure, a little raised mainly beneath, reticulation of veins and veinlets faintly though distinctly raised on both surfaces at maturity; petiole transversely rugulose, 2-4 x ca. 1 mm. Racemes from foliate and defoliate axils, slender, 6-12-flowered; rhachis slender, straight, papillose-puberulous as are calyx and pedicels, 1.5-2 cm long; bracteoles ovate, minute, caducous. Calyx cup-shaped, much attenuate toward the pedicel (2 mm long), edge undulate. Petals linear-oblong, (sub)glabrous, white to greenish, 5-6 x ca. 1 mm. Stamens ca. 4 mm long; filaments hairy. Staminodes sparsely hairy below. Free part of ovary depressedly conical or hemispherical, tomentulose, abrupt with the style, the latter glabrous, slightly exceeding the stamens in length in the dolichostylous, reaching the base of the anthers in the brachystylous form. Drupe (Plowman et al. 10094) obovoid-oblongoid, olive-green, 2-2.2 x 1.2 cm, the umbonate apex short-hairy, on stoutish subglabrous peduncle ca. 4 mm long.
