    Latin Diagnosis - Suffrutex vel frutex, 20.0-40.0 cm altus, e radice crassa multicaulis. Rami erecti, graciles, brunneo-rubescentes, puberuli vel subglabri. Folia oblonga usque elliptica, apice acuminata, apice ipso mucrone gracili (1.0 mm) acuta, basi late attenuata (sub)coriacea, glaberrima, supra lucida, subtus opaca, in sicco subdiscoloria, acute serr(ul)ata (0.5-0.8 mm), 2.0-4.0 cm longa, 1.5-2.0 cm lata, nervis lateralibus 5-6-paribus obscure inter sese curvato-conjunctis cum reticulatione venarum venularumque densa utrinque prominentibus; petiolus 1.0-2.0 mm longus; stipulae subulatae, 3.0-4.0 mm longae, caducae. Flores (l-)3-6 pro fasciculo axillari digesti, fasciculis sub anthesi subsessilibus, sub fructu distincter (usque ad 4.0 mm) pedunculatis, in omnibus partibus minute griseo-subsericeo-puberulis; pedicelli (1.0-)2.0 mm longi, bractea basali lanceolata ca 1.5 mm longa fulti. Sepala 5, subovato-oblonga, obtusa, inferne in tubum costulatum brevem connata, ca 6.0 m longa, 2.5-3.0 mm lata, albida vel cremea, intus glabra. Stamina 10, alternatim paullo inaequilonga; filamenta inferne pubescentia, supra glabra, ca 3.0 mm longa; antherae glandula apicali crassa erecto-barbata instructae. Disci lobi lineari-clavati, tomentosi, 2.0-2.5 mm longi. Ovarium elongato-ovoideum, etiam ad stylum dense appresse hirsutum; stigma capitatum. Fructus ovoideo-ellipsoideus, inferne glaber, superne pubescens, saturate violaceus, subtrigonus, (7.0-)8.0-10.0 mm longus, 4.0-5.0(-6.0) mm latus, per 2/3 partem inferiorem sepalis persistenti-bus erectis paullo accrescentibus costulatis inclusus; semina (3-)6-8; testa brunnea, profunde foveolata; arillus membranaceous.

    Distribution and Ecology - Brasil, limited to the Federal District and adjacent Goiaz; in burned over cerrado, banks of creek, locally common, 1000-1200 m alt.
