Description
Species Description - Delicate, creeping, glabrous perennial; lvs petiolate, with broadly elliptic to orbicular, entire or obscurely toothed blade 0.5–3 cm; heads solitary or paired on peduncles ca 1 dm or less; invol 7–12 mm; fls yellow; achenes reddish-brown, moderately compressed, 4–6 mm, the slender beak about equal to the body; 2n=24. A weed in lawns; native of Japan, occasionally intr. in e. U.S., as in Del., Pa., and N.Y. June–Aug. (Lactuca s.)
