Description:

Tree 10 m x 10 cm, low-branching, outer bark grayish-brown, smooth, thin, inner bark fibrous. Inflorescences erect, petal white, filaments red-purple.

Habitat:

Seasonally flooded várzea and (on higher ground) terra firme. Relatively level terrain. Primary forest. Rare.
