Description:

Palm 5 m. tall; caespitose with 5 stems; dbh 17 cm.; stem covered with rings of flattened spines 8 cm. long x 3 mm. wide. Leaves pinnate, 75 pinnae per side, more or less arranged singly, but at many angles to the plane of the leaf. [See label for further plant description.]. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
Habitat:

Palm in cut over area near dwelling but common in the forest.
