Brazil. Acre. Sena Madureira Mun. Basin of Rio Iaco, Seringal São Jorge, area of Acre Brasil Verde mahogany management project, 107 km from Rio Branco on BR-364, then approx. 22 km E near junction of unpaved access roads called Ramal da Fátima and Ramal Mario Lobão (old road to Sena Madureira). Alt. 246 m. (807 ft.)

Description:

terrestrial herb. Terrestrial herb to 3.5 m, inflorescences erect, bracts red, flowers pale green tinged with yellow, fruits obovoid, maturing blue. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.

Habitat:

Upland forest on hilly terrain, canopy open, many large trees. Occuring in dense populations in semi-shaded understory.
