Location:

Costa Rica. Guanacaste. On the eastern slopes of Volcán Miravalles (Cerro la Giganta), above the town of Río Naranjo near the Continental Divide. Alt. 800 m. (2625 ft.)

Description:

Small tree 1.5-2 m. tall, branches and leaves below and inflorescences whitish, corollas white, the limb spreading, inflorescence on a slightly recurved peduncle, flowers held below the foliage. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
Habitat:

Along trail at edge of forest. Evergreen cloud forest with trees about 20 m. tall and the distinct understory of dense shrubs 1-2 m. tall.
