Description:

Erva robsta, formando touceiras, semi-heliófila. Rizoma espesso, fobroso, amarelado e com cicatrizes foliares muito nítidas. Folhas dispostas em leque e com pêlos alvos, lâmina membranácea. Inflorescências passadas e decumbentes. Espatas amarelo-esverdeadas a secas. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.

Habitat:

Area degrada (borda de mata) na margem do rio e de dossel aberto na encosta litorânea.
