Description:

Tree 15 m x 18 cm, outer bark brown, shallowly fissured, shed in long thin plates, inner bark orange, fibrous, rsin red, sticky, flowers ferrugineous without, green within, corolla lobes patent at anthesis. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
Habitat:

Terrace ("tabuleiro") with some swampy areas, soils sandy. High density of slender-trunked trees but canopy discontinuous, few trees exceeding 15-20 m x 30 cm. Rare.
