Description:

terrestrial herb. Herb to 2.2m, inflorescences to 1.4m, bracts red with yellow to orange base, flowers orange, fruits purple. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.

Habitat:

Terra firme forest near newly opened unpaved access road, undulating terrain. Soil sandy in many places. No Guadua, but strong presence of Bertholletia and Tetragastris altissima s.l.
