Description:

terrestrial herb. Terrestrial coarse herb to 4 m, leaf blade to 1.5 m long, inflorescences pendent, the bracts red except yellow distally, flowers yellow. Growing in stand of Guadua sarcocarpa on low levee above high-water mark. Phenology of specimen: Flower.

Habitat:

Riverside vegetation.
