Description:

Shrubs 4-5 m tall. Leaves coriaceous, dark green and shiny above, pale green below. Young branchlets rust-brown puberulent. Rachis pale green. Flower buds rust-brown puberulent.

Habitat:

Secondary forest with remnants of primary forest, right margin of Igarapé. Just outside of Parque Nacional Serra do Divisor.
