Brazil. Paraná. Just outside of Foz do Iguaçu on the border between Brazil and Paraguay; along the Rio Paraná on the Brazilian side. Alt. 160 m. (525 ft.)

Description:

Nearly the entire population on both sides of the river in flower. Culms ca. 20 m tall; flowering culms mostly leafless; young, new vegetative culms are being produced. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.

Habitat:

Along the Rio Paraná.
