Description:

Stems many in clumps. 15 m. tall, ca. 15 cm. in diameter, the whole clump flowering, with no leaves. Pseudospikelets green, turning light brown; anthers greenish; apparently no fruits being formed. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.

Habitat:

Disturbed and secondary tropical evergreen forest on red clay soil, slightly sloping to level.
