Description:

Tree. Tree 25m x 38cm, outer bark light brownish-gray, hoop marks present, bark finely fissured, thin, inner bark red, sap translucent red. Flowers pale green. Low plank buttresses. Photo. Phenology of specimen: Flower.

Habitat:

Primary forest on undulating terrain, in places dissected by many small stream. Soil sandy in many places. No Guadua, but strong presence of Bertholletia and Tetragastris altissima s.l.
