Brazil. Rio Grande do Sul. Road Rio Pardo-Pântano do Sul, about 1.5 km from river along a dirt road from ferry. Alt. 65 m. (213 ft.)

Description:

Culms arching over, about 3-4 cm in diameter, to 6 m tall. Thorny. Specimens made from branches which were up to 1 m long.
Habitat:

In low-lying area, probably marshy during the rainy season. Bamboo in low forest, one clump completely in flower.
