Description:

Large tree 25 m. tall, 75 cm. in diameter, with buttresses and anastomosing roots to 3 m. high, probably originally a strangler; bark nearly smooth. Must be end of fruiting season, only old brown fruit on the ground, definitely from this tree.

Original tropical forest, along levee of Río Iténez, on fine Recent alluvium. Fine Recent alluvium.
