Description:

Many-stemmed clump; stems arching to erect, to over 15 m. tall, usually with skirt of spiny branches at base. This clump sterile.
Habitat:

Tropical evergreen forest on low hills of unconsolidated sediments and edges along river. Common along river.
Feature Notes:

See no. 37301 for one of the few clumps along here that has lost all its leaves and become entirely flowering and fruiting
