Description:
Medium sized tree; trunk 2 feet thick, 35 feet high, terete, crooked, with main branches from the middle; weed dingy white, odorless and without taste, very soft; bark very dark brown, lenticelled or excrescent, thick, latex abundant, yellowish except the epidermis; main branches few ascending, only sparingly re-branched; leaves alternating!y crowded toward the ends of the ascendingly curved and 1/8 to 3/4 inch thick twigs, mostly horizontal, sub-coriaceous, flat, much deeper green beneath; figs usually in pairs from the leaf axils, globose, 1 inch thick, shining green and with whitish spots, when fully ripe on the tree vinosus, sessile, normally subtended by 3 slenderly acuminately pointed green bracts, florets red, the umbilicus covered by 3 small and thick bracts.
