Description:

terrestrial herb. Herb 1.5-2 m, leaf arrangement zingiberoid, leaf blade with gray-white waxy coating below, inflorescence erect/distichous, bracts 6-8, first bract appendaged, rachis darker than bracts, sepals bright green with dark, strigose stripes, distally darker with white tip, ovary green, pedicel green. Phenology of specimen: Flower.

Habitat:

Understory of tabocal (bamboo-dominated forest).
