Description:

Musoid plant to 2.5 m tall; pseudostem to 1.5 m tall, 1.7 X 3 cm diam. Petiole to 0.7 m; lamina to 1.0 m long. Inflorescence erect; rachis and spathes red, lower spathes sometimes green along back and at tip. Sepals green with vaguely demarcated yellow margin. Leaves without traces of wax underneath.
Habitat:

Grows in groups in small light-gaps and singly in closed forest where the plants are also much slenderer.
