Description:

Tree. Tree 22 m x 35 cm, outer bark brown, slightly fissured, somewhat scalloped, relatively thick inner bark beige. Fruit globose, red, 0.5 cm diam. Use: Fruits edible; sometimes trees are killed to obtain fruits. N.V.: pama. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
Habitat:

Primary forest on recent sediments, relatively level terrain, low-lying areas flooded for several months in winter (Nov-Mar).
