Georeferencing Method: Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012 (Georeferenced to the geographic center of Rio Pacaás Novos in Mun. Guajará-Mirim, Rondônia. Using Google Maps - Satellite View, located Rio Pacaás Novos, a tributary of Rio Mamoré. Used the Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to measure a straight line between the mouth of Rio Pacaás Novos (confluence of Rio Pacaás Novos and Rio Mamoré) to the headwaters of the river (approximated through the dense forest cover), then halved this distance to find the approximate midpoint of this line. Chose a point along Rio Pacaás Novos nearest to the midpoint of this line; used Canadensys lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates of the midpoint of Rio Pacaás Novos, on the adjacent northern shore (collection assumed to be terrestrial). Used the Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) again to find the linear extent by measuring from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of the river. Input coordinates, linear extent (105017.0 m), and measurement error (0.5 m) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius.)
