Description:

Solitary palm, 3 to 5 m tall. 10 to 12 leaves per individual. Petiole 1 m long, rachis 1.5 m long, 60 pinnae per side, green above, silvery below. Peduncular bract 90 cm long. Peduncle 50 cm long, rachis 20 cm long, the whole inflorescence hanging. Fruits orange, mesocarp peeling off at maturity. Very common.
