Location:

Brazil. Acre. Cruzeiro do Sul Mun. Rio Juruá Mirim, Comunidade Vista Alegre, about 3 km W of community. Alt. 230 m. (755 ft.)

Description:

Perennial plant with underground rhizome. Leaves up to 1.5-2 m tall, blades papyraceous, discolor. Distal bracts white, membranaceous.

Habitat:

Varzea forest on left side of river. Seasonally innundated from January to March.
